Overnight before departure
I have been packed for days I am so excited.
We are still getting packages for the trip.
There are bank trips and groceries, but we are finally at the boat at 11 pm. We were asleep by 1 but had to wake at 3:30 for departure at 3:45 am.
Alarms go off and we make a very quiet departure.
First bridge lift. No problems, though there was a surprisingly large amount of traffic crossing our path at that hour, who needed to stop where they were in order to let us pass in the night. There might have been a few expletives said by other boaters.
May 24th 2019 leaving Portland
Lisa and Jason slept last evening in the cockpit and are going to sleep for their week on the boat, there or on deck, to be close to nature. Eric and I are in the v-berth, Chris is on the oh-shit sailing single bed and Jon is on the vast dining area made into a bed. Ken, of course, is in the main cabin as Captain and owner of this fine sailing vessel.
